Subscription Boxes for Women

When it comes to beauty products and even clothes, purchasing full-size items or shopping online can be a gamble if you don’t know exactly what you want. Who wants to spend $60 on a tube of lotion if you’re not even sure you’re going to like it? In today’s day and age, you don’t have to! There are several monthly subscription boxes geared towards women, and for a small fee each month, they will send you high-quality samples for you to try and figure out what you like. The samples you receive are worth more than the money you pay, so even if you decide not to buy the full-size versions of the beauty products, you’re still getting a great deal on the items in the box.

In addition to being fun for you to buy yourself, the following subscription boxes also make wonderful gifts for others. Whether you need to give a present to your best friend for her birthday or something special to your mom on Mother's Day, subscription boxes allow you to give an array of goodies in one easy purchase.

Birchbox ($10)

One of the most affordable and popular boxes you can subscribe to is Birchbox. For about as much as you would spend on two Starbucks lattes, you can sample expensive creams, mascaras, eyeliners, and much more. The value of these samples is generally around $50, so this box is quite a steal. The products they send are tried and true, versatile favorites, so you’ll be sure to get good use out of them.

Ipsy ($10)

The Glam Bag is also budget-friendly, and you can score beauty samples from many famous brands, such as Urban Decay, Smashbox, and NYX, all contained in a collectible makeup bag. When you sign up, you take a short quiz, which helps Ipsy’s stylists pick out products that are specifically tailored to you (worth around $40-$60). Unfortunately, there are only a limited number of people who can receive this, so you’ll likely be put on the waitlist until a slot opens up.

Julep Maven ($19)

This one is for the nail polish lovers. The wonderful aspect of Julep’s monthly box is that it is fully customizable. You can pick your products, swap them, send them to a friend, or even skip a month if you want to. This box is slightly more expensive, but so are the spoils: usually averaging over $60 per box. Each month, you’ll receive a personalized assortment of not only nail polishes, but lip products as well.

Stitch Fix ($20)

In this box, expert stylists send you five quality clothing items or accessories each month that are tailored to your personal style and budget. You try them on at home, and you only pay for the pieces you keep. if you do not like something, you can send it back for free. If you love everything in the box, you will even receive a 25% discount. The $20 monthly charge is the stylist’s fee, and it can be used towards your total purchase.

GlossyBox ($21)

It’s a slightly pricier box, but the amazing contents make it completely worth it. Each month, you will receive a hand-picked box full of professional stylist’s favorite beauty products, including brands such as Lancome, Burberry, and Estee Lauder. You’ll get your monthly pampering fix for a fraction of what you would have normally spent on such glamorous products (over $80!).
