Off-Shoulder Peasant Tops
This bizarre trend is essentially a tube top that has long sleeves tacked onto the side, leaving your shoulders and collarbone exposed. These tops are quite voluminous, so they make you look wider. Just make up your mind! Wear a sleeve or don’t wear a sleeve! I’m done with this in-between nonsense.

Denim Skirts
Denim skirts have been attempting a comeback recently, but you should ditch this trend before it even becomes popular. Nothing screams frumpy quite like a knee-length or maxi denim skirt, so do you and your wardrobe a favor by staying as far away from these as possible.

Chevron
You really should have ditched this one in 2015. Chevron was all the rage a couple years ago, but because it got way overused, we’re all just sick of it now.

Peplum
Peplum had its day, but now it should only appear in your Timehop photos. This trend was intended to make your waist look smaller, but it actually has the opposite effect a lot of the time because the pieces aren't well made. Why would you want to add all that extra bulk to your midsection?

Fringe Boots
I’m not sure who ever thought fringe boots were a good look for anyone. They look sloppy, and they make your calves look three times wider than they actually are. If you don’t want to ditch the fringe altogether, stick with fringe booties, m’kay?

Dresses and Tennis Shoes
The juxtaposition of sporty tennis shoes and classy dresses sounds good in theory, but the vast majority of people cannot execute this in practice. (Converse is an exception.) Dresses are so chic and feminine, so why would you try to combine them with a clunky sneaker? If you still want some contrast with your girly dresses, try out combat boots instead.

Printed Leggings
There are a few exceptions, but most printed leggings have the effect of making you look younger, and not in the good way. Aztec print, camo, or other printed leggings can still look cute on your toddler, but if you want to be taken seriously and be treated like an adult, ditch these for good.

Boyfriend Jeans
This is another one that fits in the category of “good in theory, but horrid in reality.” Basically, only supermodels know how to pull off this trend. When I see them in real life on an actual person, I generally want to throw up because it just looks like they’re wearing jeans that are 15 sizes too big.

High-Low
This trend has always been very low on my list of attractive clothing. Let’s face it: It’s the mullet of the fashion world. Like an actual mullet, people will be grimacing at it in 20 years.

Uggs
Oh, the infamous Uggs. They reigned supreme for many years, but more and more people are finally starting to realize just how ugg-ly they are. About time, too. They are so far from chic it isn’t even funny.
