30 Worst Films of the 1970s

The 70s brought us some of the best films we’ve ever seen, including Star Wars, Jaws, and Taxi Driver. However, with every success, there was a film that was just downright awful. And not your run-of-the-mill awful—these were the worst of the worst. From shameless knock-offs to downright bizarre storylines, let's just say the 70s were a very...interesting time for filmmakers.

Unsurprisingly, when it came to these movies, audiences and critics were less than kind to these "unique" offerings. But honestly, we can't blame them—there are some seriously "what in the world were they thinking?" type films on this list. It should go without saying that these were not the finest moments in 70s cinema history. Heck, these were so bad that they should barely count as history at all! You're not going to see these films on someone's "best of" list any time soon.

So grab the popcorn and get ready for unremarkable special effects and so-bad-its-good acting! And most importantly, bring along a healthy dose of humor—because you're going to need it in order to survive these awful offerings. These are some of the worst movies that ever came from the 70s, and we're counting them down in all their terrible glory!
