Minions
Without the iconic blue overalls and goggles, it's hard to tell these Minion cookies apart from peanut butter with googly eyes! Major fail for this baking session.
We know there must have been a plan here, some sort of inspiration photo that spurred on this disaster—this mom should have skipped this DIY.
Trump
The eyes...the lifeless, emotionless eyes piercing straight through to your soul. This poor cookie looks like it's had a hard life, just put it out of its misery.
The hair definitely could have been a little more spot on...at least then we would have had a chance at guessing what they were going for. Besides that, there are no good, distinctive features that would tell us this wasn't just a regular, overworked businessman.
Nightmare on Christmas Tree Street
This looks to be a product of a kid on Christmas who wasn't ready for Halloween to be over yet. Either that or they were mad at Santa for last year's gifts.
The color scheme, the sprinkle placement, the sludgy icing—not sure anyone volunteered to eat that cookie. This person should just stay away from the oven next time.
Is It You, Mona?
If you're attempting to recreate the Mona Lisa, chances are you're a decent artist with some experience. Unfortunately, that does not look to be the case here.
If we didn't have the side-by-side comparison, not sure we would know what the "artist" was going for. Kinda looks like a thumb with a wig and face painted on. And no real effort on the background.
Let It Sprinkle...a LOT
Aww...this kinda looks like my toddler's creations from last year. Missing features, extra features, chaos, abstract thinking...these cookies have it all. At least some of them look to have been cut out with a cookie cutter.
Whoever the creator was, they doled out the sprinkles in generous heaps. The teddy bear may have a sliced throat, the silent gingerbread man doesn't get any sprinkles, and the rest are completely sporadic.
Where Are Your Pants, SpongeBob?
This is a version of SpongeBob we wish we could unsee. Again, his eyes seem haunted by his dark past. But what has happened to his mouth? And where are his clothes??
Patrick has fared a bit better but is still in poor shape. The color scheme is good, but his face is severely lacking. We're guessing the green goop in the background is seaweed.
Stockings Gone Melting
Red and green are great colors to choose for Christmas cookies...pink and lime green seem a bit off-brand. We've even got some peachy icing going on.
These poor cookies don't look like they're freshly baked out of the oven...they look like they've been melting under the desert sun for about a week. Some are completely destroyed!
Twisty
If Picasso were to make gingerbread man cookies....yeah, he still wouldn't have made these. Even with the completely misaligned face, Picasso would never claim something like this.
We think we see some green pants, no shirt, and a couple of random colored dots? This cookie just wants to be eaten so it doesn't have to exist anymore.
Stick Figure
Looks like they didn't have a gingerbread man cookie cutter, so they decided to draw one onto a cookie—and failed so epically. We're at a loss for words.
This had to have been this person's first time using icing at all. The poorly drawn figure, giant color splotches, and completely unnecessary sprinkles have turned this cookie into a disaster.
Who Knows
When you first see this cookie, what comes to mind? We don't know either. It's just a random, blue cookie. Was it ever meant to be more?
It may have been something with some features drawn in but it's just...blue? Oh, with some sprinkles. Whoever was given this cookie was probably as perplexed as we are.
Many Faces of Frosty
No person is the same and no Frosty is the same. Especially in this case. Frosty takes on a new look for every single cookie!
With how few features there are, it's kind of surprising the creator couldn't make them look a little more similar. Maybe they were in a hurry. Maybe they were baking during an earthquake. We'll never know.
Not Quite
When you're using a cookie cutter, you might think your plan is foolproof. That's where you'd be wrong. So much could go wrong, even using a cookie cutter.
We're sure this baker was so excited to see how their cute chicken-shaped cookies turned out, only to be met with these unintelligible lumps. It looks like a bunch of chicken scratch to us.
Little Green People
This may be the worst choice of icing color we've seen yet. The deathly green does not look like anything we'd consider edible. Mixed with a little bit of orange, these cookies look disgusting.
While some shapes are distinguishable, we're not completely sure what some of them are supposed to be. A sad lump? A Christmas cat? A green rock?
These Cookies Are On Fire!
We can handle a little crunch in our cookie, but these look extra crispy. Someone completely forgot they were baking Christmas cookies and things got a little out of hand.
Besides that, it's the indiscernible shapes for us. We see some trees, bells, and maybe a mitten, but the others? They obviously did not go as planned.
Best You Could
These cookies were apparently created by someone not in the Christmas spirit. Someone was forced to make Christmas cookies and did the absolute bare minimum.
A few scribbles here, a bit of random color there. Look, I did it, can I be done now? Instead of being made with love, these cookies were made with disdain and bitter resentment. Mmmm, yummy.
Team Ginger Bread
At least we have one winning cookie on this gingerbread man team. One looks like it was done by someone who knew what they were doing. The rest look like they were made by first-time bakers.
We can tell there's a Minion in the group, but the rest are who knows what. A couple are literally just globs of color. One is pink? One has glasses...that's all we know.
Teal Galore
Although teal is a nice color, these cookies missed the mark. Is there a shape underneath all that icing? It looks like all the color melted off the cookies.
We also have different types of sprinkles. Why? We're guessing they ran out of one type and used another type...it would go along with the chaotic theme here.
Ginger Bread House Accident
We know it's hard to tell, but this is a pile of gingerbread house parts. We're not sure what went down, but whatever happened was probably an accident. It's certainly a fail.
For one, they probably didn't use enough icing....there's barely any to be seen! We're thinking the backstory is someone got fed up trying to make this house and decided to just sit on it.
Oompa-Loompa
Well, it's definitely an Oompa-Loompa! The creator got that much right. However, we're still missing some key features—one being the pants. We distinctly remember them having pants.
But also, why Oompa-Loompas for Christmas? They're not the first thing we think of to put us in the holiday spirit. So, interesting choice of subject there.
You Tried
Looks like we had different people creating the cookies on this sheet. Some look pretty well executed while others...well they tried. Or did they?
Unrecognizable shapes, random colors, chaotic sprinkles...maybe they really did do the best they could. But alas, these cookies were a major fail. Participation trophy worthy.
The Scream
We had to do a double-take at this creation. What exactly is it? It looks like it could be a chocolate chip cookie—but then why are the chips so long at the bottom? So then, is this actually icing?
Then, there's the shape of the cookie...it might have been a tree? Or it kinda looks like the circular cookie oozed sideways on the sheet and burned. Whatever happened, it's a miserable fail.
Rough Night
We don't know who had a rougher night, these cookies or whoever made them. While the star shape turned out nicely, the decoration process obviously did not go as planned.
The clearish-white icing looks a little too much like glue...we're hoping they didn't go that route. The haphazard sprinkles look very half-heartedly placed. This did not look like a fun night of making cookies.
Smeared
Whoever made these gingerbread men were not concerned with details in the least. As long as the cookies were smeared with icing, it was good enough for them.
Maybe they were just concerned with making sure they had a good chocolatey flavor. If that was the goal, it was achieved. These cookies are covered with chocolate icing with nothing else to show for them.
Rocky?
We're not sure what the intent for this cookie was, but if we had to make a guess, we're gonna go with Rocky Balboa. You know, because of the headband and the slightly unique facial features?
But it begs the question, why Rocky for Christmas? And surely they could've added some gloves or boxing shorts. Or maybe we're completely wrong about the whole Rocky assumption. Not sure what else it could be!
Cookie Monster's Nightmare
We think even Cookie Monster would turn down this cookie from our nightmares. The dark, disturbing eyes and disfigured smile are enough to turn any cookie fanatic away.
What was probably supposed to be a sweet, happy smiley face turned out to be a major fail and a major concern. We hope this cookie was disposed of properly.
I SEE You
This Christmas cookie looks more like a ghost than anything Christmas-related. At least it was given a red and green sprinkle theme. But that's not enough.
Those giant red eyes aren't ideal for any type of cookie. We wonder if they could've used something a little less...concerning than whatever those are. Merry Christmas! Who wants creepy ghost cookies?!
Cookie Star
Poor choice of icing for these cookies...it looks more like a combination of ketchup and mayonnaise! And something was spilled on the face cookie—oh wait, those are just some random sprinkles.
Besides the color scheme, the designs on these cookies are an interesting choice as well. We have a disturbing face, a star, and a circle. Weird vibes all around.
Toy Soldier
In terms of effort, we think full effort was given here. Multiple features, use of several colors, and an obvious goal for this cookie. Unfortunately, it just did not turn out right.
While he kinda looks like a merman wearing a cardigan, we're thinking whoever made this might have been going for a toy soldier? That would be in line with the Christmas theme. Better luck next time.
Nailed It!
We sure love side-by-sides. It really drives home just how epically one can fail. Take this snowman cookie for instance. A nice, simple snowman face that seems completely recreatable.
How hard is it to add a few black dots and an orange triangle nose? Obviously too hard for this creator. Looks like they only had one color and dots are the only thing they can manage.
Zombie Snowmen
Brainsss...that's all these zombie snowmen want for Christmas. We don't know if the maker was going for a mouth or a scarf, but something went horribly wrong.
Besides the mouth area, the rest of the cookie is not all that bad. Simple, correct color scheme, edible. The living dead mouths ruin the whole Christmas mood.
The Effort Is What Counts
Here, we have a classic case of expanding cookies. While they look like they had a nice start, these cookies spread out during baking and turned into a big fail.
While we can still make out most of the shapes, some have been lost to the heat. Who knows what some could have been. At least they still look edible!
Beat Up
This poor, poor cookie. He never stood a chance. He looks in pretty sad shape, almost like he got in a fight with another cookie.
He's deformed, is sporting an odd color scheme, and looks to be completely fed up with his short-lived life. He should have never been created.
Never Drink And Decorate
It's abundantly clear that there was no plan in place here. Did the creator even know they were making cookies? We recommend never drinking and decorating.
It looks like they just gathered whatever they had in their kitchen and decided to make a random concoction. The results were less than satisfactory. 0/10 would not eat.
#3
This cookie is enough to make some little kid cry. Especially if that kid is #3. They were obviously going for a team member representation, but what they got was something entirely different.
The black beady eyes and the odd hairline would be sad on their own—it's the Joker-inspired smile that gets us. It's a horrible fail...unless the kid actually smiles like that. In that case, we're sorry.
Hannibal Bear
This cookie hopped straight out of a Nightmare on Elm Street and onto a cookie sheet. Those claws and disturbing face is enough to make anyone try not to fall asleep anytime soon.
But seriously, what happened with the mouth? Was there a smile there to begin with? Did the creator purposefully choose to make a large, red, gaping hole there? Whatever happened, we don't like it.
Pretty Hissy
Nothing screams Christmas more than—a snake and a turtle? At least we can tell what they're supposed to be. The decoration part of the cookie is still extremely lacking.
We're still wondering about the reptilian inspiration. When we think of Christmas, turtles and snakes rank pretty low on our list. But Christmas means different things to everyone...we just hope they're happy!
Hey There!
While this cookie is definitely a fail, we can't help but be impressed that it ended up in a smirk. Just look at that expression! That cookie knows what it's doing.
The rest of the cookie—all fail. The colors are icky, the icing looks all goopy, and who would want to eat that face? So while it's a fail, it's a fail that is sure to make everyone chuckle.
A+ For Effort
While we're giving out participation trophies, we believe these cookies deserve just that. The effort was certainly there. The skill simply wasn't. We're sorry, it's just the way the world works.
Based on the variety and decoration choice, we know there had to be an inspiration pic for these cookies. Whoever made them gave it their best, but were unsuccessful.
Sugar Cookies On a Trip
Now here are some unique cookies—psychedelic if you will. We think they began with a red and green theme, but the color got slightly distorted. Now we're left with a lime green and purpley-pink.
We're also seeing some far out shapes. Diamonds, chili peppers, is that a galaxy? Not really a Christmas theme, but certainly memorable! Even though they're a fail, these look like some fun cookies!
Ugly Sweaters
At least these cookies know they're supposed to be ugly. We hope Ugly Gary isn't inspired by anyone the creator knows...that face is atrocious.
No one wants to end up on an ugly Christmas sweater cookie. As for the second cookie, it's hard to make out what it says. Whatever it is, it's sure to be ugly. So while it's a fail, technically it's a win?
