21. Taylor Swift

21. Taylor Swift

Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is one of the best-selling musicians of all time, having sold over 200 million records worldwide. She is estimated to have a net worth of $450 million as of 2022. So, with so much money, it's no surprise that her house is a bit extra. But you'd at least think it would look more modern?

Is Taylor Swift even from this time period? This looks like the house of a rich grandma, not a rich 30-something. That couch, that wallpaper, the hallway light - all of it looks dated. We wonder where she keeps her collection of National Geographic magazines and her Grandfather clock. You have a cellphone, Taylor.

20. J.LO

20. J.LO

J.LO, also known as the one and only Jennifer Lopez is a woman rich enough to insure her own butt. But can she afford to have better taste? Apparently not, because her home is looking pretty gaudy if you ask us. Selling over 80 million records and being a big film star has done nothing for her.

You'd think someone as rich and famous as Jennifer Lopez would have enough money to hire an interior designer. The yellow couch and the gold accents - did she take interior design tips from Donald Trump? And on top of that, the rooms don't even mesh together. She's got filthy rich and middle-class vibes at war with each other.

19. Selena Gomez's Encino Mansion

19. Selena Gomez's Encino Mansion

Selena Gomez is a popular singer and actress. She began her acting career as a child on Barney & Friends, but rose to prominence as Alex Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place. While she continues acting, she has also been successful in her musical endeavors with hits like “Come & Get It” and “Lose You To Love Me”. So what’s her take on creating a dream house?

Selena purchased a $5 million lodge-style mansion in California back in 2020 and has set out to make it her own. The house has six bedrooms and ten bathrooms, all of which have been completely redesigned by the pop star. Here, she shared a picture of herself sitting on a velvet chair in front of a quirky wallpaper.

In fact, many of the rooms boast a bold wallpaper pattern. There’s also a huge outdoor swimming pool, a sun terrace, and a home studio. A basement room functions as a home gym and spa. Though it’s not confirmed, there are alleged secret passages between rooms which the legendary Tom Petty, a previous owner, had put in when he and his wife custom-built the home.

18. Courtney Cox

18. Courtney Cox

While her character Monica on friends was quite the perfectionist, Courtney Cox herself is decidedly not, considering she actually lives in a home like this. The exterior of the home itself is horrendous in its own right and then inside it's really not much better. Did the dogs design it?

The home itself looks like its a spaceship wreckage or something. The white top certainly gives it an industrial look, and then there's the rest of it - it's certainly interesting, but not in a good way. How anyone could come to this each day and call it home is beyond us.

17. The Siegel's "Versailles"

17. The Siegel's "Versailles"

The Palace of Versailles is one of the greatest achievements in French 17th-century art. Built by Louis XIII and transformed and embellished by kings for years, the Palace contains 2,300 rooms over 63,154 sq. meters. It is an obvious symbol of wealth and decadence—truly a spectacle. However, you don't have to travel to France to see "The Versailles".

David and Jackie Siegel decided they wanted their very own home modeled after the historic palace. Versailles is a 90,000 sq. foot house located in Orange County, Florida. It is one of the largest single-family homes in the US. Construction began in 2004 and was scheduled to be done sometime this year. However, Hurricane Ian shredded the mega-mansion setting it even further behind schedule.

Dubbed “The Queen of Versailles”, Jackie isn’t giving up after the $10 million setback—she says it’s going to be a masterpiece. The couple gained fame after the 2012 documentary “The Queen of Versailles”. The house features nine kitchens, 14 bedrooms, three indoor pools, two outdoor pools, a video arcade, a ballroom, a two-story movie theater, a wine cellar, and SO MUCH more.

To go into detail, doors and windows for the house were made using some of the last legal Brazilian mahogany before the Brazilian government banned it—they cost $4 million alone. The wine cellar can hold 20,000 bottles; there’s a two-lane commercial-grade bowling alley, a baseball diamond, and even an elevator in the master bedroom closet. It’s all a bit much!

16. Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch

16. Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch

Michael Jackson was a world-famous singer. Also known as the “King of Pop”, he is regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century. He popularized the moonwalk and the robot and is the most awarded individual music artist in history—wow! So what did this icon’s home look like?

Purchased in 1988 for about $17 million, Michael bought a ranch on a 2,700-acre property. He named it Neverland Ranch after Peter Pan’s island home. Named after a boy who never grew up, this ranch had everything a kid could want. Featuring an amusement park, a petting zoo, and even three railroads.

Within the amusement park, there was a Ferris wheel, carousel, roller coaster, bumper cars, arcade, and multiple other rides. Because the home was such a spectacle, numerous events took place on the estate. Elizabeth Taylor and Larry Fortensky’s wedding in 1991, an Oprah Winfrey interview in 1993, and a three-day World Children’s Congress in 1995.

Since his passing, the amusement rides and animals were removed, replaced by a meditative zen garden and a section decorated with Peter Pan. By 2015, extensive renovations had taken place, and by 2016, the 2,698-acre ranch was up for sale for $100 million. This included the 12,598 sq. foot, six-bedroom home, a four-acre lake with a waterfall, a pool house, three guest houses, a tennis court, and a movie theater.

15. Donald Trump

15. Donald Trump

By now, everyone is aware of Donald Trump's complete lack of taste, especially if you've ever seen his hotels, but let's take a closer look at his hideous home. From the carpet to the ceiling, everything about this is gross. It looks like the home of an old couple that just bought everything expensive they could find and shoved it into one space.

Even the outside of the home is ludicrously extra. The home, located in Palm Beach, Florida, was recently "under siege" as Trump put it by the FBI as part of an investigation. The raid, which took place in August 2022, was not there to arrest Trump for his lack of taste in decor, however.

14. Elvis's Graceland Mansion

14. Elvis's Graceland Mansion

Elvis Presley, the “King of Rock and Roll”, is one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century. His “provocative” performance style brought him great success, but of course, was met with some controversy. Having sold over 500 million records worldwide, he’s the best-selling solo music artist of all time. So what did his home look like?

Dubbed “Graceland”, his mansion is located on a 13.8-acre estate. Now a house museum, it rivals the number of visitors to the White House! It’s a 17,552 sq. foot mega-build with eight bedrooms and bathrooms. In the home are features like peacock-covered stained glass, a massive crystal chandelier, plush chairs in golden frames, and the Jungle Room.

In the Jungle Room, there is an indoor waterfall, plenty of green, and items from Hawaii. There is also a wing of the house that initially housed a slot car track but was remodeled into a trophy building. In the basement are three TV sets built into the wall, a wet bar, and a mural of his logo on the wall.

13. Manny Pacquiao's Mansion

13. Manny Pacquiao's Mansion

Manny Pacquiao is a former boxer turned Filipino politician. Nicknamed “PacMan” he is regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time. He’s won twelve major world titles and was the first boxer to win the lineal championship in five different weight classes and the only boxer to hold world championships across four decades. His accolades mention several more firsts, too many to list. So what does home look like for this champion?

Though he owns multiple homes, let’s focus on his mansion in General Santos City in the Philippines. It was built in 2012 and modeled around a contemporary style. It has streamlined surfaces and white walls, floors, and ceilings. Inside, you’ll find modern pieces as well as tropical touches.

Like many of his other homes, this mansion features a grand staircase and high ceilings. Beneath the staircase is a textured yellow accent wall and abstract painting. The living room holds unique furniture pieces in both yellow and red. In fact, yellow is a recurring theme throughout the entire home.

The dining room gives off modern tropical vibes while just a few feet away, the kitchen is very contemporary. The home features a music room that has more of an eclectic feel than anything. With reddish walls, a brown sofa, and zebra print rug, this room has a lot going on. All in all, these house is certainly unique!

12. Dita Von Teese's Eclectic House

12. Dita Von Teese's Eclectic House

Dita Von Teese—the “Queen of Burlesque”— is a burlesque dancer credited with repopularizing the performance. She’s been featured in many shows and was briefly married to Marilyn Manson. She’s toured the world performing and has a line of her own perfumes, her own brand of lingerie, a line of stockings, and a line of luxurious cardigans. With a net worth of $16 million dollars, she has the means to decorate her home however she wants.

The “Queen of Burlesque” has a unique taste and has built a one-of-a-kind home in L.A. She considers the home always a work in progress—”I like having projects”. The 3,200 sq. foot Tudor-style home featured four bedrooms with a bunch of white walls. She wasn’t having it. “I am a maximalist.” She went room by room, adding color and excitement.

Dita loves antiques and taxidermy, and it shows in her choice of decor. One room features many taxidermy pieces, including an ostrich perched above the window, a small monkey seeming to walk the outskirts of the room, and a full-bodied tiger wearing a crown—far from the only taxidermy in her home. The same room features pink walls, pink curtains, a pink rug, and forest-green furniture.

With a variety of prints, patterns, colors, and even textures—she’ll be adding a feather wall soon—her home certainly doesn’t lack personality. When commenting on her kitchen faucet, she stated, “I saw this faucet. It was the most outrageous thing, and I had to have it. I just love it, it’s really weird, and it’s not maybe the handiest thing, but I like it.”

11. Joan Collins

11. Joan Collins

Looks like someone went a little overboard with the floral designs. We get it, Joan, you like flowers. Perhaps, a little too much. Nothing makes a home look dated and gaudy more than floral designs just about everywhere in your home. And then decorative plates and wall art with flowers too? Chill out with the flowers!

And can we also talk about the picture frames? There are just way too many there. That wall is filled with them. When it comes to photos, less is more. A photo here and there is okay. If you want to reminisce, they have photo albums for a reason. And if you insist on having them all on that wall, they also have collage frames. The photos you have up aren't even spaced evenly, so you might want to consider it.

10. Chrissy Teigen's Legendary Home

10. Chrissy Teigen's Legendary Home

Chrissy Teigen is a former model and TV personality. She made her modeling debut in the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, cohosted a few shows, and authored two cookbooks. She’s also married to singer/songwriter John Legend. They obviously have the means to create a spectacular home, so what does this celebrity’s digs look like?

First of all, it is custom-built. Located in Beverly Hills, this $17.5 million home features six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and wide open floor plans. With 10,700 sq. feet and towering 24-foot ceilings, there’s plenty of space for the family of four. It also has sliding-glass partitions throughout the home, adding to the openness.

Out back, there’s a terrace with a 100-foot saltwater infinity pool with a Baja shelf surrounded by a pool house and sunken fire pit. There’s a 500 sq. foot media room, three powder rooms, and a top-of-the-line laundry room. There's also a tree growing in the middle of the foyer! Similar to Khloe’s pantry, Chrissy’s is also extremely organized and aesthetically pleasing.

Besides just the looks of the house, some other over-the-top features include the five tankless water heaters, five AC systems, and 16 security cameras and Crestron smart-home technology with built-in wall controls. It’s certainly not something you see in every home! Would you say it’s too much, or would you do the same?

9. Gigi Hadid’s New York Apartment

9. Gigi Hadid’s New York Apartment

Gigi Hadid is a famous model. At the age of 27, with a net worth of $29 million dollars, she has plenty of money to buy her dream home. So what does her idea of home look like? Let’s take a look at her New York apartment to answer that question.

The model spent a year designing and decorating her almost $6 million apartment. She owns two units in the building and plans on combining them. The first apartment is a two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom unit that includes a chef’s kitchen. The second one is three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms and features a private terrace with a fire pit, grill, and outdoor refrigerator.

While there’s nothing too wild about that, the secret is in the details. Gigi’s sense of style is a bit different from the norm. Her apartment features pasta-infused cabinets, an entire perfume shelf from floor to ceiling, and questionable art pieces. With bold prints and bright colors, there’s always something for the eye to study.

The eclectic apartment also houses decorative skis in the living room, a decorative wooden bowl of billiard balls, and lemon-yellow carpet in her “glam room”. Her unique space has garnered a lot of attention with both negative and positive comments. We’re all for expressing individuality in your home, but did she cross the line?

8. Jeffree Star’s Barbie House

8. Jeffree Star’s Barbie House

Jeffree Star first rose to fame as a makeup artist on YouTube. He’s since founded and owns Jeffree Star Cosmetics, a successful makeup brand. He’s delved into the music scene, releasing a studio album in 2009. His song “Lollipop Luxury” even features Nicki Minaj. However, he is still most well-known for being a makeup artist. This successful celebrity has a net worth of $210 million.

With all that money, one could build a monstrosity of a home—and that’s exactly what happened. Dubbed the “Barbie Dream House” and located in Calabasas, California, the 6,800 sq. foot mansion is completely bubblegum pink. The home includes six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, with nearly every room painted some shade of pink.

From the walls to the curtains to the floors, once you enter this home, you are surrounded by pink. The kitchen features pink walls and chandeliers, while bedrooms boast pink velvet walls and curtains. One bathroom has pink walls and curtains and what seems to be pink-tinted bathtub tiles and vanity countertops—or it could be just a reflection; we’re not sure. We see pink everywhere!

The star created a “pink vault” for his closet, which includes a 10,000-pound pink vault door complete with a fingerprint and retina scanner and an armed guard—all just to get into the closet! Of course, when you have a ridiculous amount of designer fashion, you want to make sure it’s protected at all times!

7. Reese Witherspoon's Nashville Home

7. Reese Witherspoon's Nashville Home

Reese Witherspoon is a successful actress who’s earned numerous awards throughout her career. She has consistently ranked among the world’s highest-paid actresses. She was named one of Time’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2006 and 2015. In 2021, Forbes named her the world’s richest actress with an estimated net worth of $400 million.

In her Nashville home, Reese created her “dream project”—a memorabilia closet. She had kept her red carpet dresses and costumes from her most iconic roles, like Legally Blonde, in storage for years. With the purchase of her new home in 2014, she finally had room to break them out of the boxes!

Giving viewers a peek at her project on The Home Edit, she teamed up with organization gurus Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin. Reese took the blank canvas of a closet and turned it into a “3-D photo album coming to life”. On the show, you can see the ladies even wearing gloves while dealing with the one-of-a-kind items.

By the end of it, Reese’s closet was perfectly organized and labeled by project. From left to right, award show gowns and costumes from Big Little Lies and Legally Blonde filled the racks. The hangers were labeled with the location of each place the dress was worn. It seems a bit over-the-top, but also like every Elle Woods fan’s biggest dream!

6. Pen Jillete's "Slammer"

6. Pen Jillete's "Slammer"

Pen Jillete is a magician making up half of the magical comedy duo Penn & Teller. Wowing audiences for years with his offbeat brand of magic, it’s no surprise that when it comes to his home, he wanted something—different. Welcome to “The Slammer”, an ironically accurate visual representation of its owner.

Built in the Mojave desert in Las Vegas, Nevada, this was a normal house until Jillete bought it in 1994. He expanded it to over 7,900 sq. feet with a prison-inspired vibe. While that was the original plan, it soon changed into a multi-colored oasis in the dry desert. It looks extremely pieced together, using walkways and ramps to access the different wings.

The home features a lap pool and a Goldfish cracker-shaped pond. But that’s one of the more normal sights you’ll find. In this seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom home, you’ll be treated to a hodgepodge of furniture and decor in all styles and colors. Animal print carpets, a neon pink office, and even a suspect lineup painted on the wall as a photo-op for guests.

Diving into more details, you’ll find a chalk outline of Teller on the floor, a Scrabble-tiled bathroom floor, and even a mantis-like sculpture in the foyer. This is what can happen when you have too much money, and you get to build your first house—can this really even be considered a home at this point?

5. Khloe Kardashian's Sleek California Mansion

5. Khloe Kardashian's Sleek California Mansion

Khloe Kardashian is a household name since rising to fame via Keeping Up With the Kardashians. She is also involved in the retail and fashion industry, having founded Good American—the clothing line made $1 million in sales on the first day! With no worries in the financial department, Khloe spared no expense when creating her dream home.

Built from scratch to her exact specifications, the $17 million mansion is directly next door to her mom, Kris Jenner. Khloe’s aesthetic is “very girly with modern touches”. What might be the most interesting detail is how obsessively clean the place is. And you haven’t seen organized until you’ve seen inside her pantry—everything is sorted by size, type of food, and even color!

The pantry itself is a large room featuring numerous storage cabinets, six open shelves from floor to ceiling, and bins, trays, and jars all labeled accordingly. Besides the sheer quantity and organization of the goods, the socialite keeps dry pasta, cookies, snacks, and other items in clear glass jars. If you’re a fan of the show, you’ve seen her cookie jars—each treat is neatly stacked in perfect order!

The home features a massive pool, a home gym with as much workout equipment as some public facilities, floor-to-ceiling windows and doors, and even a panic room. Her walk-in closet is actually two full-sized rooms filled with ridiculously organized fashion, very similar to her pantry. While there are no wild, eccentric colors or patterns, the home is not without its quirks!

4. Mukesh Ambani

4. Mukesh Ambani

Indian billionaire business mogul Mukesh Ambani is the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Ltd. — India's most valuable company by market value. The fortune he has amassed is astronomical. As of 2022, Mukesh Ambani has a net worth of $95.7 billion. Surely, he must have a nice home?

Nope. Look at this building. It literally looks like it's unfinished. Look, I can appreciate modern architecture as much as the next person, but this building is just about the most hideous structure I've ever seen. This is far from dream home. Just because you are ridiculously rich doesn't mean we can overlook your complete lack of style.

3. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley & Jason Statham’s Mansion

3. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley & Jason Statham’s Mansion

Rosie and Jason are the definition of a power couple. Rosie is a successful model and actress, best known as a former VS Angel. She also made appearances in Transformers and Mad Max: Fury Road. Jason is an actor known for his tough, violent characters, often appearing in action-thriller films. So what kind of home have they created for themselves?

The duo bought a stunning $12.9 million mansion in Beverly Hills in 2015. With five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and 5,600 sq. feet, this two-story home is plenty spacious for the small family. With features like a free-standing copper bathtub, an outdoor fireplace, and a swimming pool with a waterfall, this home has it all.

Some additional features that tend to be unique include a large, winding staircase and quirky pieces of furniture. While the home is clean and rustic with plenty of beige, off-white, and warm brown tones, there are things about it that make you double-take. The model has a unique sense of style and is constantly bringing in new pieces of furniture she likes.

2. Christie Brinkley

2. Christie Brinkley

The legendary American model, actress and businesswoman Christie Brinkley became famous for her appearances in Sports Illustrated, having appeared on three consecutive Swimsuit Issues and on top of that, she spent 25 years as the face of the CoverGirl makeup brand. While we might be familiar with her whole look at this point, what does her home look like?

Sadly it looks like this. Mismatched decor with vintage, animal print, rustic and cultural appropriation mixed in. This woman is rich and she doesn't even own a closet? What's up with that? Then you go outside and you see a gazebo with a bed on it with some dead plants growing around it. Okay...

1. Iris Apfel

1. Iris Apfel

Its really not a huge surprise that the eccentric fashion icon Iris Apfel has such absurd taste when it comes to interior design, but we really never could have expected something like this. Is she actually trying to make everything look this mismatched and tacky in a like completely ironic way?

Or does she actually think her home looks good? It may be a question for posterity to judge but if this truly makes her happy...well, then...good for her. But its not going to stop us from putting her home on the list. We're pretty sure she wins this one.
