Henry Cavill Then

Henry Cavill Then

Henry Cavill had started acting as far back as the early 2000s, most notably appearing in the 2002 version of the Count of Monte Cristo. At that time, however, he was just a teenager, and it wasn’t until 2007 that he got his big break on the Showtime series The Tudors, where he played Charles Brandon, a friend, confidant and brother-in-law to King Henry VIII - played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

Not long after, he got his first major blockbuster film role as Superman aka Kal -El in the 2013 film Man of Steel. He would appear as the character two more times in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice as well as in Justice League – all as part of the DCEU, the DC expanded universe series of films. While in terms of critical acclaim, the films have not met expectations, many DC fans have been thrilled.

He also appeared in the 2018 film Mission Impossible: Fallout, and in 2022, will be seen in the spy thriller Argylle.  Today, Henry Cavill has returned to television but still makes time for movies as well. In 2019, he took on the role of Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series The Witcher based on the Polish book series of the same name. He played the character for three seasons with his final appearance in 2023.

Henry Cavill seems to be enjoying the single life as Glamour magazine’s “World’s Sexiest Man.” He isn’t married, nor does he have any children. He is somewhat of a nerd, albeit a hot nerd, as he enjoys PC gaming and WARHAMMER – and if you don’t know what that is, look it up. But now that he's quit the role of Geralt and will no longer be Superman, who knows what he'll do next?

Whatever it is, we'll be there!

Ryan Reynolds Then

Ryan Reynolds Then

Ryan Reynolds has remained one of the hottest actors of the past 20 years, and we don’t mean just his career. The funny, handsome, and charismatic performer has managed to stay well in the public eye for nearly 20 years. He notably started out in television with appearances in The X-Files, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and in 1998, the show Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place. His biggest break would come with the first film of his career.

Most notably, he starred in the National Lampoon film Van Wilder in 2002, a comedy film in which he had a starring role that put him on the map. Following that, he appeared in The In-Laws, also starring Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks. He played Hannibal King in the third film of the Blade franchise, Blade: Trinity in 2004. A year later, he appeared in a remake of the film 1979 film The Amityville Horror.

Ryan Reynolds Now

Ryan Reynolds has appeared in two of People’s Sexiest Man Alive lists – in 2007 and in 2009. And considering he’s just as hot as he was almost 15 years ago, we’d say he hasn’t quite lost his touch in the looks department. And his acting and star power have skyrocketed since. He's not only still one of the hottest men, he's also one of the most successful, with a net worth of $350 million.

While some of his films are misses in terms of quality, he continues to draw in audiences with his charming personality, humor, and chiseled looks. However, his biggest commercial success to date would have to be the X-Men films, in particular, Deadpool, as well as its sequel - but strangely, in those films, his appearance is covered up in hideous makeup and a mask. That just goes to show, it's not all about looks!

Paul Rudd Then

Paul Rudd Then

Actor Paul Rudd’s big break came in the coming-of-age teen comedy film Clueless starring Alicia Silverstone, which has become a cult classic enjoyed by millions to this day. That same year, he also appeared in Halloween: The Curse of Michael Meyers. While Paul Rudd would certainly do a wide variety of films in terms of genre, it was his career in the 2000s that really branded him as a comedic actor.

During that decade, he starred in a string of successful comedy films, including Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked-Up – just to name a few. His charming personality, dry humor and good looks have propelled him to the top, making him an A-List star. Interestingly, many have noticed how even in that time, he hadn't seemed to age a single day - as his looks have not faded.

Paul Rudd Now

Nobody can quite tell us when and where Paul Rudd discovered the fountain of youth, but it is quite clear that he did. His looks haven't changed one bit, but his acting? When he debuted in Antman (one of his first more serious roles in years), everyone applauded him. He did a great job in the role and really brought life to the character (as well as a set of six-pack abs). The movie turned out to be a huge success for Paul Rudd, and fans adored it.

The man is now in his 50s but still looks like he’s in his 30s at most. In 2021, he was named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive,” making his hot status official. In 2003, Julie Yaeger snagged Mr. Rudd at a wedding ceremony and never let him go. They have two children to this day. Meanwhile, Paul Rudd continues to have a successful film career. Some of his most notable recent film roles have included the superhero Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and his role in Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Chris Hemsworth Then

Chris Hemsworth Then

The god-like Chris Hemsworth had humble beginnings in Australian television, starring as Kim Hyde in a series called Home and Away from 2004 to 2007. And it wasn’t long after that show, wherein he would start his Hollywood film career, jumping straight into the Star Trek franchise - starring as George Kirk, father of James Kirk. The role garnered him significant attention. As small as the role was, it was an important one, nonetheless.

By 2011, he had a starring role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the film Thor, its sequels, and The Avengers spin-off films. It was his first big starring role, and from there, he would only appear in more blockbusters. Playing a literal god undoubtedly helped him obtain a powerful onscreen presence, and it has helped claim a ton of lead roles. Even his hot brothers haven't managed to achieve the same success.

Four Thor movies and four Avengers films later, there are no signs of anything stopping Chris Hemsworth soon. The actor has starred in numerous other blockbusters, including Snow White and the Huntsman, In the Heart of the SeaMen in Black: International and Ghostbusters, among many others. His last appearance as Thor came in 2022 in the film Thor: Love and Thunder.  Whether or not we will see him again as Thor remains to be seen.

Despite learning he's predisposed to Alzheimer's, Hemsworth is still going strong. In 2023, he appeared in a sequel to his film Extraction, appropriately titled Extraction 2. After that, Hemsworth’s next project is Furiosa, a spin-off and prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road. In it, he will play Immortan Joe. It is currently filming and is set for release in 2024. On top of all that, he has three kids that keep him busy as a dad.

Idris Elba Then

Idris Elba Then

Idris Elba is one of the hottest British actors in Hollywood, and he’s so good at accents that some people don’t even realize he is British. As equally as talented as he is handsome, Idris Elba took Hollywood by storm ever since playing Stringer Bell on HBO’s The Wire – a show considered by some to be the best ever made. he appeared in three seasons of the series before his character's demise.

In the show, he played Stringer Bell, a leader in the criminal underworld. For his next big television role, he played on the opposite side of the law, playing Detective John Luther in the BBC series Luther. That show lasted for five seasons, or series as they are known to Brits. Thereafter, came one of his first major film roles in28 Weeks Later, a sequel to the horror film 28 Days Later.

Idris Elba Now

Idris Elba Now

Ever since, Idris Elba has appeared in a number of major blockbuster films, including Thor, Prometheus, The Suicide Squad, and Pacific Rim. His commanding onscreen presence has made him a leading man in Hollywood. Some have even touted him as a worthy replacement for the next James Bond, although that never came to be.  Nevertheless, Idris Elba is going strong without taking on iconic roles like 007, earning himself plenty of original roles.

In 2013, Essence named Elba the Sexiest Man of the Year. In 2018, Idris Elba was named as People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive. But being hot isn’t all he does. He’s also a family man who has been married to Sabrina Dhowre since 2019 and currently has two kids. Most recently, Idris returned to his role as Detective Luther for the 2023 film Luther: The Fallen Sun.

Chris Evans Then

Chris Evans Then

Chris Evans started his career off in the early 2000s, acting in teen flicks like the teen film parody Not Another Teen Movie as well as the teen heist film The Perfect Score about a group of students who steals the answers for SAT exam. And that same year, he also appeared in the action thriller Cellular, which also starred Jason Statham. These roles gained him considerable attention, no doubt, but it was his first Marvel role that turned out to be his biggest break.

His first big break happened in 2005 when he appeared in the comic book film Fantastic Four. In it, he played Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch. Although it received mixed reviews, it definitely had commercial success. Little did he know then that he would end up playing another Marvel superhero just six years later in a film that would be better received by audiences and critics alike - leading to numerous sequels too.

Chris Evans ended up getting to show off his bodacious abs again for his role as Captain America role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in which he appeared in several films of the franchise. His final appearance as the character happened in the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame. His most recent film appearances have included the Disney/Pixar film Lightyear, in which he provides the voicework for Buzz lightyear, and the Netflix original film The Gray Man.

In 2022, Chris Evans was named the "Sexiest Man Alive" by People. So, how does someone as hot as Chris Evans stay single? In the past, he’s been linked to Jessica Biel, Minka Kelly comedian Jenny Slate. But what about now? It seems there’s nobody yet, but he does want a family. He told Men’s Journal, “I want a wife, I want kids. I like ceremony. I want to carve pumpkins and decorate Christmas trees and s**t like that.”

Chris Pratt Then

Chris Pratt Then

Chris Pratt started humbly, waiting tables at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company in Maui when he was just 19. He was discovered there by Rae Dawn Chong, who wanted him for a short film called Cursed Part 3. From there, he would pursue a career in acting, appearing in television series like Everwood and The O.C.  Then, in 2008, he appeared in Wanted, starring James McAvoy.

But his first major film role didn't make him a breakout star. His big break came on the show Parks and Recreations in which he played Andy Dwyer, a character he played for seven seasons. Upon joining the show, he was only intended to be a temporary character, but the producers loved Pratt so much they kept him on as a regular character. His first major film role was in Moneyball, starring Brad Pitt.

In 2024, he can be seen in a brand-new Garfield film.

Only two lucky women have claimed Chris Pratt’s heart thus far. The first of which was Anna Faris whom he was married to from 2009 to 2018. Later he met, Katherine Schwarzenegger, the daughter of, yes, THE Arnold. They have been married since 2019. Thus far, he has three children to pass on those genes. Chris Pratt is a devout Christian and frequently mentions God in his social media posts.

Michael B. Jordan Then

Michael B. Jordan Then

You might not remember Michael B. Jordan when he was younger, but he actually got his start pretty early in entertainment. You’d have to have a keen eye to spot him in his first appearance in The Sopranos in 1999. After that, it was all gravy. Jordan started getting role after role.  His first major television role was in The Wire, which, as mentioned earlier, also starred Idris Elba. In it, he played Wallace.

From The Wire to Hardball, Michael B. Jordan showed he could do it all. It’s no surprise that by 2020, he would be voted as one of the hottest men alive by People Magazine. Talk about a well-earned spot on the list! We certainly don’t mind seeing Michael B. Jordan strut out on the big screen nowadays.  As time goes on, his success only grows along with the roles he takes on.

Michael B. Jordan Now

Now, we recognize this fantastic actor in a ton of other great movies, including Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Creed. He did have a little stint in Fantastic Four as Johnny Storm, but we don’t talk about that. The cursed reboot did nothing good for his career. Recently, he made his directorial debut with the film Creed III, which is the ninth entry in the Rocky series - even though it doesn't have Rocky Balboa in it.

There’s no telling where this actor is going regarding his career, but he’s sure to live his life up as one of the hottest men alive. As far as relationships are concerned, well, he’s currently single! He had a long-term relationship with none other than Steve Harvey’s daughter, Lori Harvey, but the couple split after two years in 2022.  Dating rumors linked Jordan to Amber Jepson, but that turned out not to be true.

Blake Shelton Then

Blake Shelton Then

When you start talking about Blake Shelton, it’s hard to know where to start! He’s been giving us fantastic music since the early 2000s. It all started with “Austin,” in 2001, and we all knew he was gonna be something big. “Austin” flew to Billboard's Top 100 and remained there for five weeksTalk about an achievement! His debut album is now Platinum certified. In 2003 and 2004, he released his second and third albums, which were also a success.

Since then, he’s been swooning us with music, but now people best know him for his role as a judge on The Voice. He joined the team in 2011, and by 2017, he was on everyone’s radar thanks to his quick wit and charm. In 2017, People Magazine made sure everyone knew he was the hottest man alive.   And in addition to his philanthropic work, he's also known for his prolific relationships, particularly with Miranda Lambert.

Seeing him on The Voice was a breath of fresh air compared to some of the other judges, but unfortunately, he was replaced by Reba McEntire – love her, but we’ll miss our favorite country man. In 2019, Shelton made Billboard's  "Top Country Albums" four times, with his highest ranking being number 14 for the album Based on a True Story. At the 2020 CMT Music Awards, he won best collaborative video, earned through his performance of the duet "Nobody But You" alongside Gwen Stefani.

He tried his hand at acting momentarily, but it hadn’t really landed. But that’s okay, though, because Shelton has his hands full. While he doesn’t have any biological kids, he’s in a relationship with Gwen Stefani, who has three kiddos! Blake Shelton is apparently a great father and is more than happy to be a stepfather to Gwen’s three boys. The couple also loves apparently adopting as many animals as they can handle.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Then

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Then

The Rock started out as a college football athlete, but that didn't end up transforming into a career. The Rock’s early career can be summed up in one phrase: Do you smell what The Rock is cookin’? Before getting a big break as the soft-hearted actor he’s known for today, he was one of the biggest wrestling stars the WWE/WWF had ever seen – and we’re not exaggerating. We’re guessing the industry made a lot of money on this guy.

Unfortunately for wrestling fans (and fortune for the rest of us), WWE/WWF isn’t exactly a long-term career.  He wrestled from 1996 to 2004 before he was ready for something else. So, he dropped that and picked up acting. It was rocky at first with The Mummy Returns, but it wouldn’t stay that way. There’s a reason he won the hottest man alive in 2017, after all. While he would return to wrestling part-time, he wouldn't give up on acting.

And thank gawd, because he has become one of Hollywood's biggest action stars - if not THE BIGGEST. Johnson was in a series of movies after The Mummy Returns, including a spin-off called The Scorpion King in 2002. What really helped him out were movies like The Rundown, Walking Tall, and Gridiron Gang. We all began to see how he was more than a bunch of muscles and a stiff…eyebrow.

Nowadays, he’s best known for being in The Fast & Furious franchise, Moana, and Jumanji. His most recent role was Fast X, in which he returns to his role as Luke Hobbs in a mid-credits scene. It's clear The Rock loves acting. However, if you look into his passions, what he loves most is being a dad. Johnson absolutely adores spending a ton of time with his daughters, and his Instagram shows as much.

David Beckham Then

David Beckham Then

We’ve all really watched David Beckham change over the years, right? He went from being a soccer bad boy to settling down and having some kids with none other than Posh Spice – Victoria Adams (now Victoria Beckham). We’re getting a little ahead of ourselves, though. he's been in the public eye for so long, it's hard to remember that the soccer star started out his professional career when he was just 17 years old.

Over the years, Beckham has proven to be a key player for Manchester United, and he’s largely contributed to winning plenty of domestic and international titles. He made 115 career appearances in total while appearing at three FIFA World Cup tournaments. However, in 2013, Beckham dropped the hard-to-take news that he was going to retire, but that didn’t stop him from earning his distinguishment as the hottest man alive by People Magazine in 2015.

So, what is this tall drink of water up to now? He’s involved in a ton of stuff! Even though he isn’t playing soccer, he’s still very much involved in it. He’s co-owner of Inter Miami CF, a Major League Soccer team, and he is also co-owner of an Esports guild in London. Other than that, he’s a brand ambassador for huge companies like Adidas, H&M, and Haig Club Whiskey.

Both he and his wife Victoria Beckham (of the Spice Girls) are also now known for their humanitarian efforts. Beckham has been involved in a number of charitable initiatives, including serving as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and supporting causes related to children’s welfare, education, and disaster relief. Today, he and his wife are believed to have a combined wealth of over $450 million. So, in other words, he's hot and totally rich.

Channing Tatum Then

Channing Tatum Then

Channing Tatum certainly has some acting chops but there's one role where he really stood out. In fact, it makes one wonder: didn’t Channing Tatum seem a little too good in Magic Mike? The movie itself was fantastic, and fans and critics both loved it. But if you were questioning like us, the dots will connect when we tell you that’s basically what Tatum did before he got his start in being a silver screen hunk. Those good looks will get you far!

Before he became an actor, Tatum was a professional dancer. It wasn’t until 2006 that he actually began his acting career in the dance film Step Up, and he became the “hot boy” in a ton of movies in the early 2000s. Somehow, he didn’t get to the cover of People Magazine’s hottest man until 2012. What’s up with that?! Maybe it was thanks to 21 Jump Street, which came out that same year.

While Channing Tatum was still very much the “hot guy” in a lot of films (often playing the hot, dumb guy), he showed that he was able to do more than show off his body. He acted in various movies like the sports drama Foxcatcher and the action film White House Down.  His big break really came with the 2012 film 21 Jump Street, based on the TV show starring Johnny Depp.

Tatum later appeared in 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and then, Bullet Train in 2022.  What’s next for this hunk? He’s actually trying to get behind the cameras. Acting is still a massive part of what Tatum does to earn a living. He’s also started to get into producing films, which he did on Magic Mike: XXL and Logan Lucky. On top of all that, he's ventured into entrepreneurship for various brands like Born and Bred Vodka.

George Clooney Then

George Clooney Then

George Clooney is one of the few men that have managed to grace the cover of People Magazine as the hottest man alive, not only once, but twice! We get it, though. He’s been making women blush since 1994 when he appeared as Dr. Doug Ross in ER. It’s almost unbelievable that he didn’t earn the title until 1997, the same year he played Batman in the film Batman & Robin.

At that time, he was still playing the doctor we all wanted to see when we got sick. Batman wasn't quite the breakout film role he had hoped it would be but it certainly wasn't the end of his career. After ER, Clooney would go on to appear in movies like Out of Sight, Ocean’s Eleven, and Syriana. For a while, acting was his main schtick, but it wouldn’t stay that way for long.

After getting a name for himself, Clooney wanted more. He began to branch out and direct some films, like Good Night, and Good Luck. That one actually earned him critical acclaim and multiple award nominations. He went on to direct another critical success, The Ides of March. On top of that, he's also started producing. He actually produced Argo, which won an Oscar for Best Picture. His one Academy Award for acting was for the film Syriana.

Clooney widened his portfolio further when he started becoming a philanthropist and activist. He supports various causes like human rights, refugee relief, and more. He actually co-founded Not On Our Watch, an organization that focuses on human rights violations and mass atrocities. Unfortunately, he's no longer single. While for years he lived the bachelor life, he finally settled down with Amal Alamuddinin 2014. He met his wife, a Lebanese and British lawyer, through a mutual friend.

Matthew McConaughey Then

Matthew McConaughey Then

McConaughey is more than just a southern gentleman from Texas. In comparison, we know that now,  but when he first appeared in the ‘90s, we weren’t sure what to think of him. He was in Dazed and Confused, where he played a stoner, where he first said the words, all right, all right, all right.” Nevertheless, he’s sure showed us that he’s extremely versatile nowadays with better and better roles.

He appeared in films like A Time to Kill and Contact - films in which he mostly had a supporting role. Later he had a starring role in The Lincoln Lawyer, but what earned his spot on the cover of People Magazine’s hottest man alive was How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and The Wedding Planner. Gotta admit that those movies were hot, hot, hot. People came to love him in romantic comedies, but that wasn't his passion.

He began to take on the roles he really wanted rather than the ones that paid well. It really didn’t take long for McConaughey to start racking up the awards. He would earn several nominations and awards, including a Saturn Award, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Then, in 2014, the best thing happened to McConaughey — he won an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of Ron in Dallas Buyers Club

It was an award that was definitely deserved and a long time coming. After that, McConaughey began focusing his talents elsewhere, including acting in the HBO series True Detective. He tried producing, but it wasn’t really his thing. What he enjoys outside of acting is being a professor of practice at the University of Texas in Austin. Yeah, teacher! Could you imagine having this man as a professor? You could also consider him a bit of an author after writing a memoir titled “Greenlights.”

Brad Pit Then

Brad Pit Then

If there's any man who consistently comes up as one of the hottest men alive, it's Brad Pitt. Actor Brad Pitt is another spicy man who’s been nominated for hottest man alive more than once. It isn’t too much of a shocker to know that they were both in the early 2000s because that’s when Pitt was in his prime. The first one occurred in 1995, while the second occurred in 2000. This was right after marrying the lovely Jennifer Aniston.

The first nomination came after the films Interview with a Vampire and When Legends Fall. Lestat can get it any day. The second nomination came just after he’d finished Fight Club, and he certainly was looking scrumptious after that, no matter how busted they tried to make him look. By 2004, he was still turning heads as Achilles, appearing shirtless throughout the movie while boasting some serious abs that were enough to make jaws drop.

Brad Pitt Now

Acting has remained a huge part of what Pitt does, and he has starred in some huge hits. He’s also earned TWO Oscars. Once for best performance for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and the other for best motion picture for 12 Years a Slave (since he was a producer of the film). Unlike some of the others on the list, Pitt has had a tumultuous time romantically.

His relationship with Aniston didn’t work out, and he ended up marrying Angelina Jolie (who has been nominated as the hottest woman alive). That didn’t work out either, and the two got embroiled in a messy divorce. That hasn’t stopped him from doing things like co-founding Make It Right Foundation, an organization aimed at building sustainable housing for those in need. Returning his focus to film, currently, he's producing the highly anticipated 2024 sequel to Beetlejuice.
