Sam Pittman

While the football program at the University of Arkansas is not doing amazingly by any stretch of the imagination, their recent seasons have been noticeably better than some others, and that might have something to do with head coach Sam Pittman. Pittman’s current annual salary at the University of Arkansas is $6.4 million. During his time with the team, his overall record has been 19-17, which at least has more wins than losses—but is that a record really worth $6.4 million?

While his initial salary was nothing to laugh at, his contract also stipulates several bumps in his pay as he progresses.

Currently, Fickell’s salary with the team is set at $7.63 million, but his contract comes with annual raises that will push him closer to the $8 million mark over time. If he can turn the team around, we imagine that those numbers will climb even higher.

Currently, Franklin boasts an impressive salary of $8.5 million. However, the money doesn’t stop there, as he also receives bonuses in the hundreds of thousands for bowl and championship wins. That doesn’t sound like a bad job to us!

Bryan Harsin

Bryan Harsin

Bryan Harsin is the head coach of Auburn University and their team, the Auburn Tigers. Formerly, he coached for the Boise State University Broncos for several years and had a 64-17 win record. However, his first coaching gig was at Arkansas State in 2013. Then he made his way to Auburn, and things...well, didn't go well.

There were a series of people getting fired, and eventually, in 2022, Harsin was also fired. That being said, Auburn was still on the hook to pay the remainder of his contract. When broken down, that meant that Auburn owed Harsin over $15 million in a lump sum. So far, he's only gotten $7 million, but the rest is still owed and to come.

Coach Prime

Coach Prime

Coach Deion Sanders aka Coach Prime is one of the richest coaches in the league. In 2023, he signed a five-year contract that is worth $29.5 million before incentives. Annually, he’ll be making $5.5 million, but that amount just goes up and up when you look at the incentives.

Some of those incentives include $150,000 for winning six games and achieving bowl eligibility, $100,000 for every additional win beyond six, $150,000 if Colorado wins the Pac—12, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Needless to say, Coach Prime is now rollin’ in the dough.
