Which TV Shows Are Coming Back For Another Season?

Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy
  • Status: Renewed
  • New Season Premieres: September 26
  • Seasons: 20
  • Watch it On: ABC

Most of the original cast is gone, but that hasn't slowed down Grey's Anatomy.  Ratings have been dropping for years, and there have been strong online opinions about whether it's time to give Grey's Anatomy the conclusion it deserves.

But show creator Shonda Rhimes long ago said that the show would end once Meredith Grey herself, Ellen Pompeo, decided to leave the show. She downgraded to recurring character in season 20, but she has yet to officially throw in the towel.

The series, known for its intense emergency scenarios and character-driven storytelling, continues to captivate audiences with adrenaline-pumping rescues and emotional depth. Based on the cliffhanger season 7 left off on, we can assume a lot of season 8 will focus on the 118 adjusting to their new captain and Bobby trying to get his old job back.

The Bachelor

The Bachelor
  • Status: Renewed
  • New Season Premieres: TBD
  • Seasons: 28
  • Watch it On: ABC, Hulu

The Bachelor has been around since 2002 and shows no signs of stopping. The only problem? All the controversy it's faced since the beginning. But that's all part of the allure, isn't it?

"The Bachelor" has been renewed for its 29th season, continuing its long-running streak in reality TV. Despite facing accusations of racial insensitivity, lack of diversity among contestants and leads, and questions about the authenticity of relationships formed on the show, it remains a popular guilty pleasure for many viewers.

The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian
  • Status: Renewed
  • New Season Premieres: May 2026
  • Seasons: 3

The Mandalorian was a clear hit from the beginning. It was Disney+’s flagship series – the one that got everyone to sign up! Nothing made people click “subscribe” faster than baby Yoda! Disney+ quickly pumped out two more seasons, and we've been eagerly waiting since that final episode.

We might have to wait for the film franchise to catch up to where The Mandalorian left off season three, but the highly anticipated season four is expected to drop May 2026.

Stranger Things

Stranger Things
  • Status: Ending
  • Premiere Date: 2025 (TBD)

  • Watch it On: Netflix

Following the success of the first four seasons, the series creators and showrunners, the Duffer Brothers, signed a multi-year film and series overall deal with the streaming giant back in 2019. Unfortunately for fans, the Duffer Brothers later announced in 2022 that the fifth season, filming currently, will be its last.

Stranger Things will end with its fifth and final season, which is expected to be released in 2025. The brothers said that they had planned out the story arc seven years earlier and originally predicted it would last four or five seasons.

The Crown

The Crown

Morgan has said that he has a "20-year rule" for ending the show at a point in history 20 years before the present. He also wants to avoid catching up with more recent events, such as Queen Elizabeth II's death, Prince Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle, and King Charles's coronation.

Squid Game

Squid Game
  • Status: Renewed
  • New Season Premiere: December 2024
  • Seasons:
  • Watch it On: Netflix

Squid Game took the world by storm; it was all anyone could discuss. This South Korean TV show was about people competing for money in children's games—but losing meant losing your life. It was super popular, so we figured Netflix would want to renew it, although we weren't sure the showrunners were interested.

The creator thankfully expressed the desire to do a second season and was given the green light to begin working on a second season! We get to look forward to the series' newest season coming out in December 2024 (as long as the TV Gods are in our favor). There will also be a third and final season!

Euphoria

Euphoria
  • Status: Renewed
  • New Season Premieres: 2025 (TBD)
  • Seasons: 2
  • Watch it On: HBO Max

Every series HBO comes out with is, at the bare minimum, really good, but Euphoria? It’s one of the best ones they’ve ever come out with. The show is a coming-of-age series but in a very modern way. Rue is an addict just trying to make it through high school.

The cast is amazing and features Zendaya as Rue. The first season blew up with massive critical acclaim. It felt like forever before season two was confirmed, and filming started late due to COVID-19. Then, in 2023, one of the show's stars, Angus Cloud, passed away, and filming was delayed. Currently, filming is set to start in January 2025.
